Skiathos Wool has opened a virtual shop!

Currently we have a very limited number of individually handmade Skiathos hats for sale. We aim to develop our shop so that you can support us by purchasing finished handmade items or the raw materials to create your own woolly art. We have turned discarded fleece from local sheep into these amazing hats it hasn’t been easy, but it has taught us so much about native wool, culture and the people who care for these animals. These hats represent the very DNA of Skiathos, its history and struggles in times of hardship when nothing went to waste and everything had a value. So if you purchase one of these hats, you will be purchasing something that has been crafted from a natural, environmentally sustainable material in a way that hasn’t changed in centuries. Weaving and working with wool was once a part of everyday life on Skiathos, before Greece became a popular holiday destination.
